Giant mythical worms for cutting through hard stone to build an ancient Temple? Elaborate gemstone layouts for interpreting divine judgement? Stone pillows? Rocks infected with leprosy? Ancient Jewish texts are full of stories, laws and fascinating insights into the way that rocks have been held in religious and cultural traditions. These are just some of the stories that we’ll explore in this session, which is for people of all backgrounds and beliefs. While the stories we’re looking at come from the Jewish tradition, there will also be time to share your own cultural or religious associations with stones. This event is being held with support, and as part of the Scottish Geology Festival.
