Jamaya are characterised by an ethnic groove style: a musical combination of East and West, with lyrics about life in Israel with all the complexity of it, for better or for worse. The band members (Tal Araya, Tamir Hillel, Naor Eliyahu and Ron Bakal) began to play together from the age of 16 and together they got to know the music scene. They studied at the Rimon School where they practised and learned together. They have a very energetic playing style and are known for getting an audience to their feet! Jamaya’s debut album “Simple Life” was launched at the Barbi club in an lively and sweeping performance that led to them to playing the Zorba Buddha Festival, the Pitraya Pub, the Tmuna Theater, the Goldstar Festival and many more performances in the north and south of the country.
