There is much concern worldwide about climate change and the increasing havoc it will continue to wreak upon our communities. The dominant causes are no mystery, and while industry is a major culprit, it’s no secret that our actions as individuals are contributing to the crisis. Ironically enough, for thousands of years, our Jewish tradition has been calling on us to nurture a sacred relationship with our natural surroundings and be conscious about the way we benefit from the earth’s resources, but for some reason we don’t focus our collective Jewish energy on this moral responsibility. In this session, we’ll learn together some of the fundamental textual concepts, as well as a few lesser-known teachings, that both inform and inspire us to heed the call and repair the world.
