The Edinburgh synagogue was built in 1932 and reconstructed in 1980-81 to form a 500 seat synagogue at the upper level and a Community Centre at ground level, which continues to act as a focus for a wide range of social, cultural and educational activities. Representative Council

The Council speaks on behalf of the Jewish Community of Glasgow and the West of Scotland and provides a democratic forum for organisations within the community.
