Holocaust Memorial Day – East Renfrewshire Council event – 7:30pm

24th January 2017

In recognition of the enduring and universal significance of the Holocaust, East Renfrewshire Council will jointly host a Holocaust Memorial event with Renfrewshire Council in St Ninian’s High School, Eastwood Park, Giffnock G46 6UG.

The theme for National Holocaust Remembrance in 2017 is “How Can Life Go on” and the joint Council event will reflect that theme, with a presentation from Amal Azzudin, a campaigner for human rights and social justice in Scotland, who takes responsibility for the development and delivery of new and innovative work with asylum seekers and refugees within the Mental Health Foundation. Amal is also well known as one of the Glasgow Girls, a group of seven school girls from Drumchapel High School who campaigned to stand up against dawn raids, detention and deportation of asylum seekers in Glasgow.

If you wish to attend it is essential that you confirm your attendance by telephoning Margaret Pettigrew at ERC on 0141 577 3107.
Please also advise at that time if you have any mobility requirements.
