No-nonsense detective Teo uncovers a toxic cocktail of fanatical nationalism and racism bubbling away underneath the surface of this close-knit provincial community. A pacy and engrossing detective story, which is also a fascinating exploration of the contemporary Polish perception of Jews, dead and alive, and the worrying persistence of antisemitic myths in the 21st century.
