Edward Green, the Queen’s jeweller will come and talk about his career.
Edward Green has many associations with Glasgow. He often visited as a child when his grandparents lived here, he attended Strathclyde University, and then visited Glasgow frequently when he was Managing Director of Mappin and Webb. He was fortunate to hold many senior positions in the cream of the jewellery world in addition to Mappin and Webb, amongst them Managing Director and then Deputy Chairman of Garrard the Crown Jewellers and President of Asprey in the US
For the past 21 years, Edward has lived in Edinburgh with his wife, Maryla, and son Freddie. He currently advises on jewellery and other antiques and collectables, purchasing and selling jewellery to his clients worldwide.
In January 2014, he was appointed to the board of the National Galleries of Scotland and in January 2016 appointed a Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Edinburgh and is the first Jew to hold that position of in the history of the city.
