Yom HaShoah 2020

As we are unable to gather in person this year, a video has been created so that we can still remember the victims of Holocaust. You can view it on our Vimeo here: https://vimeo.com/409505145.

Glasgow Jewish Representative Council President Paul Edlin said:

“Jewish history warns us that every society can encounter Antisemitism in all its evil forms. It is only with education that we can defend against this evil. We hope you will find the Yom HaShoah commemoration to be an appropriate memorial and educational event for the Jews who perished and the Jewish culture lost in the Shoah.”

There are a number of online events and resources available in order to ensure we are still able to observe this important day of remembrance, and to learn about the Shoah. The full schedule of events being run by Yom HaShoah UK can be viewed at https://www.yomhashoah.org.uk/live

The Anne Frank House have produced a video series entitled Anne Frank Video Diary. Anne Frank’s video diary introduces her life story to young people, placing it in the context of the Second World War and the persecution of the Jewish people, and presenting it in a way that is potentially more accessible to them. The first episode can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWFjgWGI_YE

We hope you are safe and well during this time.
