SUMMARY:6:30pm - SCoJeC - 200 years of Jewish Communities\, a talk by Michael Tobias in Dunfermline
DESCRIPTION:To mark the Bicentenary of Jewish Communities in Scotland\, we will be holding seven talks across Scotland in towns with a history of hosting small Jewish communities. Michael Tobias\, researcher\, and genealogist\, will open our series of talks\, speaking in Dunfermline on Monday 19 June\, 6.30pm\, at the James Alan Community Centre in Dunfermline\, KY12 0BU\, as part of Refugee Festival Scotland 2017. \nHear about the history of smaller Jewish communities\, as well that of the larger communities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Participants will hear the “how”\, why” and “where” of Jewish immigration to Scotland\, followed by a discussion and a “sharing our stories” session.
