SUMMARY:SCoJeC presents: Fire and Light in the forest – Lag B’Omer 2017  - 11.30am (for 12 noon) to 4:30pm in Callendar Wood\, Falkirk
DESCRIPTION:SCoJeC\, the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities\, in association with Newton Mearns Hebrew Congregation and Forestry Commission Scotland\, are pleased to present a day of fun woodlands-based activities for the whole community on Sunday 14 May 2017. Activities will start at 12 noon\, with the site being open from 11.30 am to 4.30pm. \nJoin us and take part in: archery\, childrens’ crafts and games\, wild foraging and cooking\, forest walks\, storytelling\, fire juggling demonstration. There will also be a kosher barbecue with vegan options. All outdoor activities are supported by Forestry Commission Scotland\, and run by outdoors activity specialists\, Earth for Life. \nThere are plenty of toilet facilities and well-maintained accessible paths throughout the site. Come prepared for all weathers\, with warm\, weather-proof clothing and footwear suitable for outdoors. \nTransport to and from the site is being organised from Glasgow\, Edinburgh\, Dundee\, St-Andrews\, and Aberdeen\, as required. But you can also make your own way there. Car parking is available at Callendar Business Park\, off Callendar Boulevard or on Kemper Avenue. Alternatively\, you can also take the train to Falkirk High or Falkirk Grahamstown rail stations and make your way to the site via local bus. (http://scotland.forestry.gov.uk/visit/callendar-wood – for details) \nBooking in advance is ESSENTIAL by no later than 12 noon on Friday 5th May if you need a place on the coaches. \nCost: We are asking for a voluntary donation of £10 per adult\, £5 concession for OAP\, students and children aged 9 – 16 yrs. Children 8 and under are free.
