Netherlee and Clarkston Charitable Trust
The Netherlee and Clarkston Charitable Trust was established in 2012 with funds arising from the sale of the assets of the Netherlee and Clarkston Synagogue.
The Trust’s objectives are to encourage organisations within the Scottish Jewish Community to run events and activities which will increase participation in Orthodox Jewish Religion or Education.
The Trustees have interpreted these objectives very broadly. Our grants over the past 10 years exceed £250,000, to organisations from Jewish Chaplaincy to the 5th Giffnock Jewish Girl Guides, and from the Rabbinical College to FZY and AJEX.
We do support one off events and activities, annual events and special occasions.
We do not support day to day running expenses.
The Trustees meet four times per annum to consider grant applications for sums over £500. For smaller sums, applications are handled by round robin e-mail and are usually decided within 7-10 days from receipt of application. However we do ask for as much notice as possible.
If your organisation would like financial assistance with planned events or activities, and you fall into the areas of activity covered by our objectives please contact our Honorary Secretary, Pamela Livingston at [email protected] for further information and details of how to apply for a grant.
