DESCRIPTION:Itamar Rabinovich is the president of the Israel Institute (Washington and Jerusalem). He was Israel’s Ambassador to the United States in the 1990s and former chief negotiator with Syria between 1993 and 1996\, and the former president of Tel Aviv University (1999–2007). SUMMARY:SJHC - Weiner Library - Recovery & Repair: Supporting Jewish Family Histories of the Holocaust in Britain 10am - 3pm
DESCRIPTION:A team from the Wiener Holocaust Library is returning to Glasgow to deliver another in-person event\, aimed at helping people learn how best to look after their family history. \nThis free\, one-day event will take place at the Scottish Jewish Heritage Centre. It offers the chance to learn about taking care of the precious documents\, photographs\, and items that represent your family histories. \nExperts from the Library will give practical tips on how best to look after your family archive\, with practical demonstrations of safe storage\, and advice on making digital copies to preserve your collection for future generations. \nAs well as this\, researchers will be on hand to provide guidance on how to carry out research family histories connected with the Holocaust. Staff members from SJAC and SJHC will also be presenting on how family history collections are used. \nAll are welcome\, and feel free to attend for all or only part of the session. The event is free\, but space is limited so please register below. \nRegister here.
