Lord Pickles, “True friend of the Jewish people”, to address the Jewish community in Glasgow
You are invited to join us to listen to Lord Eric Pickles.
A high-profile ally of Britain’s Jewish community and chairman of the Conservative Friends of Israel, Lord Pickles will discuss progress being made on the Holocaust Memorial Foundation, which is to be built next to the Houses of Parliament. Lord Pickles will also talk about the work of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
Lord Pickles was instrumental in the drafting of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of antisemitism, now adopted by the UK and Scottish Governments, many councils across the UK as well as the police and other public bodies.
Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis called him: “An outstanding British leader and a great inspiration for everyone who has the privilege of knowing him.”
All members of the community are invited to the talk. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
The event will be held in the Garnethill Synagogue function room.
